Danae Lenda

Danae Lenda is a 27 year old artist working in both San Francisco and Martha's Vineyard. She grew up on Cape Cod, frequently visiting the her grandparents on the Vineyard. In 2017, she moved to California to attend the University of San Francisco, but returned to the East Coast in 2024 to spend her summers teaching art for the Old Sculpin Gallery. Her work revolves around changing perceptions of identity, often changing from day to day based on what inspires her to create new work. She is a member of City Art Cooperative Gallery since 2022, and has exhibited in galleries throughout San Francisco. She joined the Martha’s Vineyard Art Association in 2026.

Having grown up in the age of social media, her work typically revolves around themes of consumption and creation. She studies the way we perform our identities, in both real life and online, drawing from internet trends, riffing off pinterest-inspired mood boards and trendy aesthetics. She is curious about the way we use the internet and the globalization of culture to find ourselves and present ourselves to the world.
