About Karen Morgenbesser

Art has always been an important part of my life. Whether through my career as a freelance illustrator, children's book author or photographer, art has been my favorite form of communication. No single place has influenced my artistry more than Martha's Vineyard, where for the last 24 years my photography has focused on capturing intimate scenes of people, places, and objects in their natural surroundings. Martha's Vineyard has presented a treasure trove of images which continue to inspire my creative outlets.

Prior to focusing on photography, I founded Art From The Heart, a non-profit program that designs bedroom makeovers for children diagnosed with cancer. Taking inspiration from the families I've worked with over the last two decades, I published a children’s book. I’m Still Me Inside and Out, features my illustrations and is dedicated to the children I have met along the way who have shown incredible strength and inspiration.

My photography has been featured in MV Magazine, the Oak Bluffs All Island Art Show and the MV Agricultural Society Fair.
