About Joan Kumpitch

When others went to music lessons l searched out painting lessons. Occasionally dropping my brush, I’ve intermittently painted in oil and water colors throughout my painting life . I moved from New England to the Virgin Islands in 1972 . I joined a water color class with Bud Hawes.
I showed with the Good Hope Art show and the St. CROIX Art Guild . I’ve appreciated & been enhanced by the rich contrast of colors in the island environment .
In 1984 we bought a property on Martha’s Vineyard & have shared my time between these bucolic islands .
I enjoy painting seascape, boats, flowers and birds. I am pleased & proud to be a member of the Old Sculpin Gallery.
