More about the artist:
She has won awards in the All-Island Art Shows on Martha’s Vineyard and last year, won third place in the Martha’s Vineyard Art Association’s 2017 Exhibit at the Chilmark Library. She is a visiting member of the Martha’s Vineyard Plein Air Group and was featured in their 2017 Exhibition. She created the art work for the 2017 poster for the Martha’s Vineyard Wind Festival. Her work is carried at the Old Sculpin Gallery in Edgartown, MA and has been shown in numerous exhibits and galleries on Martha’s Vineyard and Texas. In 2013, one of her paintings was published in “The Chappy Ferry” (chappyferry.com/marthasvineyard/).
Janis Langley is an award-winning pastel artist, working and exhibiting in Martha’s Vineyard and Texas. Her works are featured in galleries, exhibits and private collections, and have won numerous awards. She teaches art to adults and children and gives workshops and demonstrations for professional and community groups.
She is on the board of the Martha’s Vineyard Art Association, serving as vice president of programs, and is a member of the Austin Pastel Society, Central Texas Pastel Society and Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod. Her work has received awards from the Austin Pastel Society, the Central Texas Pastel Society, the Texas Pastel Society and Martha’s Vineyard Art Association, and has been chosen for juried exhibits with the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, Texas Pastel Society, Central Texas Pastel Society, Southeast Texas Pastel Society and the Austin Pastel Society.
